GOVERNOR PROCLAIMS MAY 14th --“HEALTH CARE AUXILIAN DAY”
Governor David Paterson has proclaimed May 14, 2008 as Health Care Auxilian Day in New York State to recognize the dedicated auxilians who annually donate more than five million hours of service to their health care facilities and to their communities.
Eastern Long Island Hospital pays special tribute to the many Auxilians and Volunteers, who during the past year, raised $352,000 and collectively contributed over 30,000 hours of service. The Auxilians contribute greatly to their community hospital as in-service volunteers and run the Gift Shop and Opportunity Shop for ELIH. Annual fundraising events include luncheons, card parties, plant sales, book fairs and most recently a car raffle to raise funds for nursing scholarships.
New York State has more than 75,000 health care auxilians who initiate, fund, and volunteer for a wide variety of patient and family care services. Today we pay tribute to Auxilians everywhere, but especially, here on the North Fork and Shelter Island, for their commitment and tireless efforts.
AUXILIARY WINTERFEST BRUNCH TURNS TWENTY-FIVE
The Annual Winterfest Brunch hosted by the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary celebrates twenty-five years. A North Fork tradition for the gathering of family and friends, all are invited to attend. Festivities begin at 12 noon on Sunday, March 2, 2008 (snow date March 9th) at the Vineyard Caterers Restaurant, Main Road, Aquebogue, and include a sumptuous buffet with Eggs Benedict, Chicken Marsala, Penne ala Vodka, and a whole lot more.
Tickets are $25.00 and include a cocktail of your choice – Bloody Mary, Mimosa or white wine. Tickets are available by advance sale only.
