PREVENTING INFECTION

Across the United States, hospital acquired infections result in 100,000 deaths each year. Because an infection can be a devastating outcome for a
surgical patient, infection prevention and control at ELIH is a priority.

A Generation of Volunteers

The Junior Volunteer Program offers community youth an insider’s view of the hospital in exchange for a few volunteer hours a week.
Junior Volunteers are 15-18 years old; they work a minimum of two hours a week, after school or on weekends.

Skin Cancer Screenings May Save Your Life

Believe it or not, more than one million people will be diagnosed with skin cancer this year. That’s more than all other cancers COMBINED.
