Our Impact

2016 - Storm Hardening Project Funded by David J. and Bobbie Marks Family Fund/Peter and Erica Harold

Due to our beautiful waterfront location, ELIH is susceptible to storm damage and is now undergoing preventative reinforcements to our infrastructure thanks to the generosity of grateful patients.  With a redundant emergency generator, the building of a reinforced cement curb/sea wall and the installation of a water extraction system, ELIH will be well-protected during extreme weather conditions.

As a result of the fine care, my wife received, we both felt compelled to express our gratitude,” says Peter Harold.

2016 - State-of-the-Art Technology for the Early Detection of Breast Cancer

Thanks to several donors, the CLC Kramer Foundation/Peter and Erica and the John and Elaine Kanas Family Foundation, a 3 D Mammography/Tomosynthesis System is available at ELIH.

By offering 3 D mammography, ELIH expects to increase the number of routine screenings on the North Fork,” states Paul J. Connor. “This is just the beginning of a comprehensive Breast Health Center identified by the ELIH Foundation as a fundraising priority for our residents.”
