ELIH APPOINTS NEW MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSE MANAGER

Stacy L. Podlasek, BSN, RN, SCRN, CCRN-K has joined the nursing team at Eastern Long Island Hospital (ELIH).   In her new role at ELIH as Medical Surgical Nurse Manager, Ms. Podlasek is responsible for coordinating all aspects of nursing care on the 32-bed Medical Surgical Unit and the 5-bed Intensive Care Unit.

 

Ms. Podlasek brings over 19 years of nursing experience to ELIH.  Her previous nursing positions have included traveling nurse, telemetry and cardiopulmonary rehab, home health and other aspects of cardiac and medical/surgical care including stroke.  She has held several quality management roles and has directed performance improvement initiatives for a stroke program which resulted in bronze and silver award recognition from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. 

 

Prior to joining the nursing management team at Eastern Long Island Hospital, Ms. Podlasek was a Stroke Performance Improvement Coordinator at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital.  During her nursing career, she has held several nursing positions at hospitals on Long Island including Peconic Bay Medical Center, Stony Brook University Medical Center and Southampton Hospital. Her professional certifications include Stroke Certified Registered Nurse from the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing, Critical Certified Registered Nurse by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).  Ms. Podlasek holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Urbana Regional Site. Her professional memberships include the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the National Association for Healthcare Quality.  Ms. Podlasek resides in Mattituck.
