If you use needles, syringes, or lancets at home, you can dispose of them safely at Eastern Long Island Hospital. Sharps – needles, syringes, or lancets – should be placed in plastic, puncture-proof container with a tight fitting lid and clearly labeled “CONTAINS SHARPS”. Sharps can be dropped off any Tuesday between 10 am and noon at the Receiving Entrance. When you arrive, use the Receiving phone to call Support Services at ext 201. A designated employee will meet you to assist with proper disposal and documentation. For further information
