Eastern Long Island Hospital is proud to announce the addition of three new general surgeons from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Meeting House Lane Surgical Group to our medical staff. We are overjoyed to have Dr. Sampath Subramaniam, Dr. Sang I. Pak, and Dr. George D. Keckeisen join our Surgical Center of Excellence.

Dr. Sampath Subramaniam is board certified in general surgery and specializes in both minimally invasive bariatric and general surgery. He is fully trained in laparoscopic bariatric, foregut, colorectal, and general surgery. During his residency, Dr. Subramaniam was Chief Surgical Resident at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in Manhattan. Prior to joining the Meeting House Lane Surgical Group and ELIH, Dr. Subramaniam was working at Bristol Hospital in Bristol, Connecticut, a community hospital that prides itself on its high level of patient care. Originally hailing from India, Dr. Subramaniam enjoys cooking Indian cuisine, swimming, and being with his children in his spare time.

Before joining Stony Brook Southampton Hospital in 2014, Dr. Sang I. Pak worked as a private solo-practice attending general surgeon at New York Hospital Queens, Flushing Hospital Medical Center, and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Dr. Pak is an active member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American Hernia Society (AHS).

Dr. George Keckeisen is a board-certified general surgeon and he has been working with the Meeting House Lane Surgical Group since 2011. He has served as Vice President and President of Medical Staff at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, among other elected positions at Peconic Bay Medical Center. Dr. Keckeisen currently serves as Medical Director of the Center for Advanced Wound Healing at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, as well as Program Director of Surgery Residency at the East End Health Alliance. He has been servicing the East End communities for the past 22 years, and he is Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s senior surgeon. Dr. Keckeisen has been an attending surgeon at Eastern Long Island Hospital since 2000, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our staff.

Dr. Subramaniam, Dr. Pak, and Dr. Keckeisen all bring their own unique backgrounds and experiences to ELIH.
