The Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation (ELHF) dedicated its new Emergency Room Ambulance Ramp Entrance in memory of Hon. Helen J. Rosenblum on Tuesday, April 8, 2024, on what would have been Ms. Rosenblum’s 79th birthday. The modification project was generously donated by Hon. Edward J. Boyd, Esq.

Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Names Lory Tortelli as New Vice President of Nursing
Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) has named Lory M. Tortelli, MBA, BSN, RN, as its new Vice President of Nursing Administration. She began her role on March 11, 2024, and reports to Suzie Marriott, Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of Patient Care, MS, RN, PMH-BC (she/her). “The best decision I ever made was to become a nurse,” explains Lory who comes to SBELIH after a long career in radiology, cardiology, and administration.

Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Partners with Food Rescue US North Fork
Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) takes great pride in its partnership with Food Rescue US North Fork, contributing the hospital’s freshly prepared and packaged unused food each week to support the efforts of local volunteer food rescuers. Through this collaboration, essential sustenance finds its way to food pantries across the North Fork to combat hunger and waste within the eastern Long Island community.

The Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary (ELIH Auxiliary), a 100-member volunteer group that fundraises for Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH), raised a record-breaking $572,000 in 2023. The donation is part of the Auxiliary’s total contribution of more than $2,457,000 in gifts over the last 5 years.
